Carpet pythons are a semi-arboreal species native to Australia, New Guinea and the northern Solomon Islands. They are named for their beautiful markings, which resemble an oriental carpet pattern .

Adult Carpet pythons are a large snake, reaching about6-13 feet (2-4m)
